An exhibition entitled "Dubrovnik Roofs: A Walk Through the Past" will be opened tonight at 7:00 pm in Lazareti.

The RE DU TILE - Dubrovnik Roofs project deals with the historical development and significance of the canal tile for Dubrovnik and its surroundings. The exhibition will present the history of the development of the canal coupe (as the first form of roof tile in Europe after Roman imbrexes and tegulas), the history of its production in Kupari, the method of canal construction, classification of its various types and current photo documentation of roofs on the north side of the city. In addition, collected photographs of roofs provided by citizens through the project, covering the period from the 1920s to the 1979 earthquake, will be presented.

The authors of the exhibition are: Kristina Kojan Goluža, Vasilija Todorović, Dora Mihaljević, Gloria Loborec, Antonia Kunjašić, Viktorija Žuvela and Romana Ficović.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Institute for the Reconstruction of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Museums, the Franciscan Monastery in Dubrovnik, DPDS, UPUK "Heritage", the Dubrovnik Fire Brigade and the Municipality of Župa Dubrovačka.

The exhibition will be open until May 2.
