Cascadia Metals Ltd. has installed a 60- by 0.187-in. Triple Turret Head™ Braner/Loopco slitting line in its Delta, B.C., coil processing center. Manufactured by Braner USA in Schiller Park, Ill., the line is equipped with patented automatic Andiamo line thread-up technology, production automation, and safety features. It processes 25-ton by 60-in. coated carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless coil in gauges from 0.009 through 0.187 in. with coil mechanical properties up to 133,000 PSI. An automatic packaging line straps and packages the slit coils.

The new equipment includes Braner/Loopco’s new Kevin Slitter QC+Automation computer software package, which generates slitting line tooling setups, verifies gauge and widths are within specified tolerances, establishes equipment operating parameters, provides line fault monitoring, automatically programs coil data into the pack line controller, and generates real-time production data.
