OLYMPIA, Wash. — Olympia police said quick reporting by witnesses led to the arrest of a prolific tagger whose getaway was foiled by officers.

On Friday, police were called to reports of a suspicious person on top of the Pizza Time building at 112 Jefferson St. NE.

Officers arrived to find the tagger leaning over the edge of the roof, in the process of spray-painting the building.

Members of the Olympia Fire Department came to the building and provided a ladder for officers to get to the roof.

The tagger tried to get away by sliding down a pipe on the side of the building, but officers were waiting at the bottom.

The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for investigation of malicious mischief.
