LaserCoil Technologies, Napoleon, Ohio, has announced that RSDC, a metal toll processor in Holt, Mich., has placed an order for a dual-head, 8-kW coil-fed blanking line, the first of its kind in North America. The line features sealed optics and a proprietary high-speed Z axis. It is expected to be running production by Q4 2022.
By laser cutting directly from coil stock, the system is suitable for production environments running multiple blank profiles and mixed material types. It can handle coil stock up to 2.1 m wide in any length and can process aluminum, mild steel, advanced high-strength steels, materials for surface-sensitive panels, and structural components.
